You become a Christian when you repent of your sins and place your faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone. This happens when the Holy Spirit (who is God, the third person of the Holy Trinity) does a supernatural work to convert and regenerate you.
The good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ is that there is salvation from the wrath of God for your sins, if your faith and trust is in Jesus Christ alone:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him will not perish but will have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
“For it is by grace that you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
God has elected and ordained to use ends and means, namely the preaching of the Gospel (or “good news”), to save His people:
“For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “Lord, who has believed what he has heard from us?” So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.” (Romans 10:13-17)
So if you have read or heard the Word, whether here now or somewhere else at another time, and you have come under conviction from the Holy Spirit for your sin and you have looked to Jesus Christ in faith for your salvation from the wrath of a holy, eternal, and almighty God, then you are a Christian.
If you are Christian we encourage and commend you to find and join a local church that faithfully preaches and teaches the Word of God.
If you have not yet been saved, we earnestly implore you to consider that one day you will pass from this life, and you will face God at judgement. God is a good and just God, and he will exact vengeance for any and all sin ever committed. There is only one way to be saved from the eternal wrath of God in Hell, and that is to have Jesus Christ as your Lord & Savior. He was born of a virgin, lived a perfect life, and yielded his life on a cross as an atonement for sin to save his people. He was resurrected bodily three days later and established His Church which includes both Jews and Gentiles (everyone else who is not a Jew).
